MOTION PICTURE PRODUCTIONS

     Maring is bringing the sophistication and gorgeous lighting techniques of still photography over to the motion picture medium. We create content on state of the art HD Digital Cinema cameras, and compliment that with gorgeous HMI, and Tungsten light filtered through Profoto's line of world class parabolic reflectors.

 

     This allows Maring to seamlessly transition the project from video to still photography when projects call for both, and offers clients a clean, fun, and fashionable experience that is well organized and flawlessly produced.

 

     Commercially, we aid companies in defining their message complimented by bringing every element of the production to fruition including location, talent, sound design, lighting, grip, art direction, and of course Director of Photography Services as well.

 

     On the personal front, Maring offers 35mm Cinematography for weddings and events as well with an unobtrusive documentary style that allows couples to freely enjoy their day without distraction or interruption.

NEW YORK CITY SCENICS We've been documenting New York for the past several years. When you live in this amazing city, it's pretty hard not to notice stories unfolding all around you. But, among the concrete jungle that so many people call home, there is some gorgeous scenic beauty as well. The City has some amazing sunrises and sunsets, and a lot of this footage was taken from the 37th floor of a building in Chelsea. We enjoy getting out and capturing the world around us without a specific agenda. Creating when you aren't on a specific assignment always seems to somehow lead to something. Check out the video to the right and see New York City and some of it's beautiful scenery.

Indie Film Projects Charles teamed up with Director Ethan Black and other creative filmmakers, taking on the roll as Director of Photography for several short film projects that will be co-produced throughout 2012. Our first co-created film short, shot on location in Brooklyn , NY this past December is now in post production. We begin production in January on another film short titled "Trees & Ink".      Time Lapse photography has opened up a lot of opportunities for us creatively. In fact this year we will fly to Spain on assignment twice to scout  and to create some short films of the Rioja Wine Region for an interactive iPad Application we are producing for a client.

 

    The film above shows NYC at different paces. The city is always on the move, but when you speed it up, you  really get a feel for just how much is truly going on.

A RECENT SHORT FILM

     In the spirit of creativity, we just wrapped up Trees and Ink, a short film written by Khaled Quaaz, who is also the lead actor. Director Ethan Black, and producer T.J. Collins put an incredible team together to bring this story to life.

 

     Charles Maring, along with Steven Glassner took on the Director of Photography roles lighing the scenes with a wide range of light shaping tools to create the envoronment. The film, shot entirely on the Canon 5D Mark II and Canon 1D Mark IV is in post production now, and will debut at film festivals later in 2012.
